The atmospheric moments in the alleys of Old Porvoo, the cafes and the riverside terraces have been etched in the minds of many travelers. Cycling is a great way to enrich the Porvoo experience, and Porvoo is full of different cycling options, from more mellow cycling to speedy downhill riding. There are routes to ride both in the bosom of nature and to satisfy the hunger for culture. Porvoo can be reached along charming country roads, through beautiful postcard-like landscapes. If your journey starts in Helsinki, you can also travel to Porvoo via the archipelago route aboard the Runeberg ship. During the trip, you can admire the maritime landscape and enjoy traditional salmon soup.

The South by Cycle route, which in its entirety runs from Hanko to Kouvola, offers the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed ride, while more experienced cyclists can challenge themselves and enjoy the speed and turns offered by the route. Along the route, you will also encounter many interesting places to stop. One of these is Albert Edelfelt's museum, where you can learn about the life and works of the great Finnish artist. The museum offers an interesting cultural experience during a cycling holiday.

The EuroVelo 10 route, which runs along the Finnish coast from Vaalimaa to Tornio, also passes through Porvoo. So by following the EuroVelo 10 signs, you can get to Porvoo from both east and west. EuroVelo routes are easily accessible, can be ridden with any type of bike and mainly follow paved roads.
