Buses and bikes

There are several bus connections in Finland, for which you can buy a bicycle ticket in advance from Matkahuolto's online store. You can easily identify the connections for which you can buy a bicycle ticket from the bicycle icon. Bicycle tickets cannot be purchased for all bus connections in advance from the online store. However, it might still be possible to take a bicycle with you on the bus but this must always be verified separately from the bus company in question.

Train and buses

You can travel with a bike on nearly all domestic long-distance and commuter trains. If you are travelling on an InterCity train, you must book a space for your bike in advance. On commuter trains, bikes can be transported free of charge in the designated spaces. Bikes cannot be taken on Pendolino trains. On night trains and car-carriers, bikes can be transported in a bike space (which must be reserved separately). On a car-carrier, you can also attach the bike to your car’s bike rack or trailer hitch rack. In this case, there is no separate fee for the bike. You can reserve a bike space when purchasing your train ticket. Read more from VR.fi.
